The problem

Attendance at Lukeron ran the way it does at most small manufacturers — a physical register or a spreadsheet, filled in by hand, reconciled at month-end by someone doing arithmetic against half-remembered leave days and late arrivals. It's slow, it's easy to fudge, and by the time a discrepancy shows up it's usually payroll day and too late to check it properly.

A generic HRMS solves this for a company with hundreds of employees and an HR department to run it. At under 25 people, that's the wrong tool — too much setup, too many modules nobody needs, and a subscription priced for a headcount Lukeron doesn't have.

What was built

A mobile-first PWA where employees check in and out with an in-app selfie plus GPS, matched against a stored reference photo and validated against a geofenced site radius — with the data model built to support a single fixed site, multiple branches, or field staff with no fixed site at all. From there it covers the full attendance-to-payslip chain: punch regularization for missed check-ins, leave types/balances/approval with a calendar view, admin-triggered payroll runs for both hourly and fixed-pay staff with advances as line items, and server-generated PDF salary slips.

It also handles the parts that are easy to skip and expensive to get wrong later: admin-only employee KYC (Aadhaar stored masked, never the full number, plus one supporting ID) and an in-app click-to-accept employment agreement with a timestamped text snapshot. Every table is scoped by tenant from the first migration — Lukeron is tenant #1, not a hardcoded special case — so the same system can onboard another company without a rebuild.

Status: in development

Core MVP is built and running against Lukeron's own attendance and payroll data — employee CRUD, selfie+GPS check-in, leave, payroll runs, and salary slip PDFs are all working end to end. It hasn't been rolled out company-wide yet and isn't deployed to a public production URL. Anti-spoofing depth (mock-location detection, rooted-device checks), WhatsApp/SMS admin alerts, and multi-branch geofencing are sequenced for later phases rather than built into this first pass.

Who this is for

Small manufacturers and distributors — under 30 or so employees — who've outgrown a paper register or spreadsheet but don't want to pay for or configure a full HRMS built for a much bigger company. Proof of presence (selfie + GPS) instead of a biometric device also means no hardware to install per site, which matters for a business running more than one location.

If attendance, leave, or payroll still runs through a register or a spreadsheet, it's worth a short conversation about what a system like this would look like for your setup.
